Posted: 13th Feb
A major mining company has officially begun a major recruitment drive for two projects in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.
BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) has engaged Hays Recruitment to hire more than 100 fly-in fly-out mining operators to work at the company’s Peak Downs Coal Mine and Saraji Coal Mine.
The ongoing positions require an immediate start on a roster of seven days on and seven days off.
“This particular role will see you operating a variety of CAT equipment on a coal mine site in the Bowen Basin – you will fly in and fly out from Townsville to Moranbah on an ongoing contract and a 7/7 roster (Wednesday-Wednesday),” Hays recruitment resourcer Laura Ryan says.
“You will be responsible for operating any of the following: CAT 785/797/793, 24H/24M grader, excavator 996/3600/5600 and/or D10/D11 dozers. You will be required to have extensive experience on at least one of the machinery listed above – multiple certifications / RII’s will be advantageous. You also must have a Coal Board Medical and a Standard 11 or willing to obtain one if successful.”
Successful applicants will be provided free induction, meals and accommodation. However, the flights will be subsidised to $130 return each fortnight – deducted from wages.
