Job Description

Our Operations

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well-equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.

lease note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on an 8/6 roster, with residential, FIFO or DIDO options available.

About the role

This role is based within our Mine Production Surface team, who are responsible for the underground backfilling process and surface material movements at Olympic Dam Mine.

Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Production Surface you will provide Coordination of Quarry Operations, Surface Material Movements, CAF (cemented aggregate fill) delivery and other works within the Mine Production Surface team in order to meet the mine’s overall backfill and surface material movement targets.

Key accountabilities of the role;

Development of the week 1-2 production schedule and 24 hour plans;
Support the quarry operations teams to meet 24 hour, week 0 and 3 MRP targets;
Use of the BHP contractor management framework to manage contractors;
Identifying and implementing safety, production, cost and culture improvements; and
Working and communicating with key stakeholders to ensure targets are met.
About you
Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way;
Proven ability to influence others to drive outcomes and work within a dynamic environment;
Ability to operate at multiple levels and across disciplines;
Operational experience within open cut mining, quarrying or similar; and
Quarry Manager’s ticket preferred but not essential.
