Occupational H&S Trainer and a H&S Advisor 

on behalf of our client who are a 

Leading Mining Contractor for a FIFO & DIDO 

role mobilizing from 

Perth. Occupational Health & Safety Trainer:

: 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off 


Reporting to the HSE Manager, your key accountabilities will include:

  • Ensure that all operations are conducted with risks and hazards that are ALARP.
  • Manage the Critical Risk Management (CRM) program and ensure that monthly targets and objectives are achieved.
  • Organise training programmes for employees as required, this may involve the utilisation of external providers or your own skills and expertise.
  • Implement and maintain effective record keeping and document control procedures to ensure that records are kept and are retrievable and in general compliance with the Safety Management Plans.
  • Identify hazards and other areas of risk that may not be satisfactorily managed with existing procedures, engineering, design or methods of work and make recommendations for continuous improvements, additions or changes.
  • Certificate IV in OH&S or equivalent.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • C Class Drivers’ License.
  • Computer Literacy especially with Microsoft Office.
  • Good understanding of Mining Legislation and Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Experience in investigation process and analysis.
  • 3 years’ experience in an Underground Mining Operation.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Working at Heights.
Health & Safety Advisor: 

: 4 days on & 3 days off DIDO 

Reporting to the HSE Manager, your key accountabilities will include:
  • Conduct site audits and compile reports as directed by the HSE Area Manager 
  • Facilitate inductions
  • Undertake reviews of Company training programmes, procedures and policies as required ensuring continuous improvement
  • Co-ordinate the development of the HSE management system documentation and monitor the performance of the sites safety procedures
  • Participate in risk assessments and JSA's for projects as required
  • Implement and maintain effective record keeping and document control procedures
  • Undertake accident and incident investigations as required, ensure that all accidents and incidents are reported and recorded in a timely manner.
The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications and qualities:
  • Certificate IV in OH&S
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment will be an advantage
  • Underground Mining experience
  • C Class Driver's License
  • Working Safely at Heights
  • Applied First Aid Certificate
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Good understanding of Mining legislation and Workplace Health and Safety
  • Experience in investigation process and analysis
  • Have a thorough understanding of ISO accreditation and system
Please note: we will engage in eastern state candidates, however no assistance will be given in flights or accommodation as the point of hire is Perth, however you MUST be able to start 03/03/21.
