A great career opportunity exists for you as the Senior Surveyor in the Mount Isa Copper Operations (MICO) Technical Services Department. As one of the largest copper mines in Australia, MICO offers you unique and challenging opportunities as a career minded professional.

As the Senior Surveyor, you will:
  • Lead a team of skilled Surveyors whose daily tasks include performing mark ups for development and production drilling, horizontal and vertical development control and stope cavity surveys, and updating the database with current survey information.
  • Ensure the delivery of timely and accurate surveying services to Mount Isa Copper Operations, with flexibility in the development of new processes and reports.
  • Take responsibility for end of month survey reconciliation, periodic check surveys and ongoing monitoring of vertical openings, including lodging of Mine Survey Plans and fulfilment of the statutory requirements of the role.
  • Bring people together by encouraging input from key stakeholders, and leading the way with a strong understanding of our vision for the future and a persistent safety focus.
  • Hold a current Registration and UM Endorsement with the Surveyor's Board of Queensland, or national equivalent
As a qualified mine surveyor, you will bring:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ underground metalliferous mining experience.
  • Excellent time management skills, the ability to work within a diverse group of people and be an effective communicator.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs, as well as Deswik and other survey and mine data software.
  • Familiarity with Leica surveying equipment and drone surveying techniques.
